February 3-9, 2010: Pew Research Center for the People & the Press Political Survey—Nationwide survey solicits the public۪s views on the Democratic Party۪s adherence to its traditional positions on issues such as helping the poor and needy.

“How good a job is the Democratic Party doing these days in standing up for its traditional positions on such things as protecting the interests of minorities, helping the poor and needy, and representing working people–in general, would you say the Party is doing an excellent job, a good job, only a fair job or a poor job?”

Methodology: Interviewing conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International, February 3 – February 9, 2010 and based on 1,383 telephone interviews. Sample: national adult. 1024 respondents were interviewed on a landline telephone, and 359 were interviewed on a cell phone, including 132 who had no landline telephone. [USPSRA.021210.RD04]
