The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) released its Survey on Community and Society assessing the state of social capital, civic health and quality of life in America.  While positive overall, the report also finds many racial, ethnic and economic disparities – including how many Americans believe they are currently living or on their way to achieving the American Dream; how satisfied they are with the communities they live in; whether they feel they can have an impact in their community and more. For example, white and wealthy people are more likely to live in neighborhoods dense with amenities – and the report finds that people living in close proximity to amenities are more satisfied with their communities, less lonely and more engaged with their neighbors.
