Digital literacy summer program aims to help bridge digital divide in Rochester

“The Boys and Girls Club of Rochester and AT&T teamed up to host a two-month digital literacy program to help underserved children impacted by the digital divide.
‘Digital literacy is the new literacy, not only in the workplace but in school,’ said Kevin Hanna, director of external affairs for AT&T. ‘This program is designed to introduce them to a wide range of STEM activities in hopes they will be interested in it and want to pursue it through their education and in their career one day.’
After completing the program, 12-year-old Laila Burnell says she wants to work in STEM when she grows up.”
