In the last five years, the graduation rate is down 2 points from 71 percent to 69 percent. Attendance is down about 8 points, from nearly 88 percent in 2016 to about 80 percent in 2021. Chronic absenteeism is also up 12 points from 37 percent to 49 percent. These numbers were stagnant or trending worse before the COVID-19 pandemic.”
