A Critical Program for Low-Income Women
The Title X Family Planning Program provides critical funding for reproductive health and educational services for low-income women and must be protected by Congress, argues a new report from the Center for American Progress. The Threat to Title X Family Planning notes that Title X funds provide no-cost services such as contraception, physical exams, and prescriptions to women living below the poverty line, and estimates that these services prevent 1 million unintended pregnancies each year. The authors call on the Trump administration and Republicans in Congress not to eliminate regulations and funding for Title X programs, as they have indicated they might.
