Although This Is A Hard Time For Many, It’s Even Harder For Those Living In Poverty. Here’s What You Can Do
“With Thanksgiving behind us, the country is officially in the full swing of the holiday season. Although this is a time when many families typically gather for large meals and to exchange gifts and communion, this holiday season is vastly different for most yet eerily the same for millions. Before the pandemic, the holiday season highlighted extreme conditions in which families found themselves wrestling with poverty and many even navigating homelessness. Sadly, Covid-19 has only added insult to injury for many members of the working poor and those living at or below poverty. Because of the current pandemic, some might resign themselves to assume there is nothing they can do to help those in need, but there are dozens of organizations across the country that have band together to develop programs to connect donors and volunteers with opportunities to help individuals who are struggling the most during these challenging times.”
