Air Pollution Poses Serious Threat to Low-Income Communities

Despite progress over the last few decades, more than 130 million Americans—particularly those in poor neighborhoods—are currently exposed to unhealthy levels of air pollution, according to a new study from the American Lung Association. The 2018 State of the Air finds that across the country, poor communities of color are most likely to be “hot spots” of concentrated air pollution.
