2 million people could see HUD rent increase, work requirements
“HUD Secretary Ben Carson introduced “The Making Affordable Housing Work Act” last week. The reform package would require households that receive federal housing assistance to pay 35 percent of their gross income in rent, up from the current requirement of 30 percent. The plan would also triple the minimum monthly rent from $50 to $150.”
