October 24 Forum – The Opiate Crisis: How Can Public Policy Promote Recovery?

Posted on

Deaths from prescription painkillers and heroin have quadrupled in the United States since 2000, but treatment is often inaccessible or costly for those who need it most. The American Enterprise Institute (AEI) will host a forum with founding members of Advocates for Opioid Recovery on treatment strategies and policy solutions to the growing opioid epidemic. Speakers include Newt Gingrich, former Speaker of the House; Van Jones, former White House adviser; Patrick Kennedy, former U.S. Representative (D-RI); and Sally Satel, resident scholar at AEI. The event will be held from 3:30-4:45 p.m. EDT at AEI in Washington, D.C. Click here to register.
