August 18 Webinar – 20 Years After Welfare Reform: What’s Next?

August marks 20 years since Congress passed and President Clinton signed welfare reform into law, emphasizing employment and giving states more control over the benefits they provide. The Shriver Center on Poverty Law will host a Google Hangout to discuss the past and future of welfare. Speakers include Elizabeth Lower-Basch, director of income and work supports at the Center for Law and Social Policy; Anne Erickson, president and CEO of the Empire Justice Center; Wendy Pollack, director of the Women’s Law and Policy Project at the Shriver Center; and Jim Weill, president of the Food Research and Action Center.
